Seven thousand capybaras were touched by the old magic of the river-lands. Six clans rose from the waters, the woods, the embers, and the dusk. This is their tale — carved in stone, bound in myth.
An account transcribed from the moss-bound scrolls of the Duskfur archivists.
Before the first watchtower stood along the Silverreed River, the valley of Aquavale belonged only to the capybaras — gentle, watchful creatures who bathed in warm springs beneath the great ferns. It is said the land itself loved them back, and one midsummer night, when three moons hung low over the marsh, the springs boiled with light and the old magic poured into their blood.
Not all capybaras were touched the same. Some rose from the embers of a lightning-struck grove, their fur smoldering like coal — these became the Emberback. Others slipped into the river's deepest current and surfaced with scales along their spines, founders of the Tidemane. In the cliffs, some grew hides like granite, ancestors of the Stonehide. Along the windward ridges, fur turned to feather-soft down that caught every breeze — the first of the Thornveil. In the deep hollow groves where no sun reached, shadow itself curled around a chosen few, birthing the Duskfur. And atop the tallest peak, where dawn strikes first, a golden litter opened their eyes to become the Sunrider.
For centuries the six clans lived apart, each guarding its shard of the old magic. But when the Hollow King's rot crept up from beneath the marsh, the clans broke their long silence and swore the Riverbond — an oath older than any kingdom, promising that Aquavale would never again face darkness divided.
What follows is not a game, nor a promise of profit. It is a world we are building stone by stone, rune by rune — seven thousand capybaras, each one a citizen of Aquavale, each one carrying a sliver of this old magic forward.

Porkalus is a mythological world and lore project built around 7,000+ uniquely illustrated capybaras, each belonging to one of six elemental clans within the realm of Aquavale. This site exists to share that world, its lore, and its artwork.
No. This chronicle is an informational and lore hub — there is no minting, wallet connection, or transaction of any kind here. Once available, the collection can be found through the marketplace links above.
There are six clans — Emberback, Tidemane, Stonehide, Thornveil, Duskfur, and Sunrider — each tied to an element and a territory of Aquavale. Every Porkalus is born into exactly one clan.
